Description

Tasting Notes:

In 2007, Dekkersvlei Vineyards pioneered the world’s first White Pinotage from South Africa’s only indigenous grape varietal. Our White Pinotage boasts fresh aromas of white pear, peach, and citrus, following a buttery, creamy sensation.

Food Suggestions:

Perfect with grilled prawns, seared scallops, and lightly smoked trout, as well as creamy burrata, stone-fruit salads, and soft-ripened cheeses. Its gentle richness and fresh acidity also complement mild Cape Malay spices, roasted poultry, and dishes featuring fragrant herbs and citrusdriven flavours.

Vineyard:

Sourced from the Klein Drakenstein slopes in Paarl, rooted in structured clay-granite soils that enhance depth and balance.

Harvest

The grapes were harvested in early February during the coolest parts of the day, with a combination of earlymorning picking and selective night harvesting to retain freshness. Grapes was hand selected to ensure only the best bunches reached the cellar. The vineyard produces a focused yield of around 8 tons per hectare.

In The Cellar

The grapes underwent a quick whole-bunch press with a slow, gentle rotation to extract the purest juice with minimal phenolics. The wine spent six months on the lees to build texture and complexity, with no wood maturation to preserve its natural freshness and varietal clarity
